In the vacuum between girlhood and aspirations of adulthood lies the strange and mysterious time of being 14. The life you’re handed is inevitably tied to where you were born and where you’re from and, for some, the harsh realities of grownup’s concerns are introduced with full force. For others, blissful ignorance and childish playfulness are still thriving. And yet, for everyone, the wonder of what life may present in the future – and the eager search for one’s place in the world – has started.
One day is a documentary that follows five 14 year old girls from five corners of the world. Narrated by themselves, the film follows their activities on one quite ordinary, and sometimes extraordinary, Saturday in their life.
