Film Description:
“From Dirt to Crown”, “Vom Dreck zur Krone”, tells the true story of Andreas Sebastian Ehrle aka ASEROCKSTAR. A hairdresser who fought his way from behind the salon chair to major stages and in front of the cameras, seemingly achieving everything from the outside.
But this film is not about his success.
It is about what success cannot heal.
About the absence of love. Rejection. An emptiness inside that neither money, recognition nor applause can fill.
A raw journey through darkness, pain and his own scars. Behind the facade of ASEROCKSTAR. To Andreas. To the human being behind it all.
To the question of what is left of you when the applause stops.
“From Dirt to Crown” is a story about lost love, self acceptance and the damn strength to get back up again and again. About how your past may shape you, but it never has to decide who you become in the end.
Because above it all stand two sentences:
Childhood asks you who you want to become.
Death asks you if you became that person.
