“Birthday” is a 7-minute short film exploring the inner life and sexual liberation of the modern woman, powerfully performed by Sharol. This comedic erotic film highlights the profound ability of women to find pleasure and happiness within themselves, without the need to please others. It celebrates the joy of self-love, the empowerment of embracing one’s desires, and the pleasure of cherishing oneself. The script was crafted by Fukuoka-based manga artist and illustrator, Soko Club, while direction and editing were handled by Hong Kong-born, Onomichi-based Tin Cheung. This independent film is a collaborative effort from three artists hailing from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan. The film emphasizes that the joy of pleasure is universal, regardless of nationality.
