Film Description:
During district council elections in Northern Iran, a candidate attempts to deceive a martyr’s family in order to embezzle charitable funds and acquire the village folk’s votes through making empty promises. The martyr’s mother is mistrustful from the start, whilst her daughter and the villagers fall for the glib words and gestures of the candidate. All is thrown into turmoil when the daughter receives a letter informing her that the brother, whom they had buried twenty years ago, is alive. Whilst the mother is overjoyed, everyone else seem to only consider what they lose if indeed the martyr is alive… amidst the village conversations ensue with unforeseen consequences.
