Film Description:
In this village in Burgundy, in the 9th century, Girart de Roussillon and his wife Berthe founded the convent of Vézelay later moved up the hill known as Vézelay today.
In the 20th century, a Medieval scholar came looking for signs of the battle of Vaubeton recounted in the Song of Girart de Roussillon. Instead he found a Gallo-Roman site which later revealed even more ancient occupation.
